Ukraine attacks Russians with 28 robots in one of the largest clashes involving UGVs on camera
Ukraine spooked Russian forces by staging a mass attack by ground robots on a section of the frontline.
It was the 'largest visually recorded clash involving ground robots of the entire war,' reports say.
The attempted advance involved 28 unmanned ground vehicles [UGVs] from Ukraine's 3rd Army Corps against positions held by the Russian Armed Forces' 20th Combined Arms Army in the vicinity of Lyman, Donetsk region.
Russia claimed to have 'repelled' this advance but there is 'panic' that Ukraine is actively 'transforming combat UGVs from mere support assets into an independent strike force on the battlefield'.
Ukraine reportedly deployed two units equipped with Mk-19 automatic grenade launchers, 18 units armed with rocket-propelled grenades, each carrying two AT-4 anti-tank weapons, and eight kamikaze UGVs.
Russian war channel Military Observer warned: 'Despite the attack being repelled, this is another sign that the drone warfare on the front lines by the enemy is gradually reaching a new level.'
Pro-war Tsargrad reported: 'The attack near Lyman marked the first attempt to employ ground robots in a manner mirroring the tactics of infantry assault groups.'
The Ukrainian 'metal armada' on this occasion lacked aerial cover and was vulnerable to strike drones after its advance was spotted, said Russian sources.
Footage showed Russian strikes on the Ukrainian robots in the new-style war.
But honing such tactics could allow Ukrainian advances on the frontline while avoiding human losses, warn Putin's war analysts.
Revelations came as Ukraine exploded a sixth major Russian oil facility in the past week.
Afipsky Oil Refinery in the Krasnodar region was in flames amid major explosions.
The refinery is a key supplier to Putin's war machine attacking Ukraine, and to occupied Crimea.
It is the 17th time it has been attacked during the war.
The strikes came as Donald Trump forecast an imminent deal including 'all of Europe' to seal peace in Ukraine.
'It's going to be a big beautiful agreement and everyone's going to be thrilled,' claimed the US president.
His comments came after talks with Kirill Dmitriev, head of Russia's sovereign wealth fund and a key Putin emissary to the US.
Trump's son-in-law Jared Kushner held talks in Brussels with Ukraine, NATO, and European partners including Britain regarding security guarantees for Kyiv and the creation of a new European security system.
A US delegation is scheduled to mediate talks in Abu Dhabi November 10 to 11 between representatives from Russia and Ukraine.
Trump, speaking to reporters at the White House, said the war was close to being settled and that ending it might involve all of Europe.
'It's going to be a big agreement, and it's going to involve more than Ukraine... I could even say it might involve all of Europe. It's going to be a big, beautiful agreement, and everyone's going to be thrilled,' Trump said.
Trump has frequently predicted an agreement to end Europe's deadliest conflict since World War Two was close. However, negotiations have picked up in recent weeks.
Kushner said in a social media post that negotiators were exploring five principal goals: permanent security consultations, reliable crisis communications, greater military transparency, reciprocal measures to reduce escalation risks, and an enduring framework for long-term European security and stability.
